word of facebook?
Ok. We all know that word of mouth marketing is the new “in” thing. Everyone wants a WOM campaign, believes that this is the kind of communication that results in the highest percentage of action taken, and wants their brand to experience a word of mouth explosion.
For a long time now, we have discussed how online social networks would fit into this word of mouth movement. I’ve blogged already about the minute return on investment an ad on networks like Myspace and Facebook actually delivers. But both networks are investing in new ways to harness the power of our online groups. Scoble blogs about it here, and has a video post worth watching here.
It remains to be seen whether these techniques and the concept of “fansumer” actually pay off, but for once I think the concept is quite powerful.
